You Gotta Love Them
My kids use the funniest wording and expressions. I really don't know where they get it from. ZB talks like an adult sometimes and SD is just too funny.
ZB used the word dynamics and quasi the other day and correctly. But when asked what they meant he didn't know
SD told me he didn't like the volume of a passing car's music.
SD told his speech therapist that he was going to do a specific sound his way (incorrectly) and she could do it hers.

When did they get so big?
ZB (6) and SD (4) were walking hand in hand down the street yesterday. I comment to my mother-in-law that SD must of had a huge growth spurt as he was only a few inches shorter than ZB.
Motzei yom tov ZB was helping my mother-in-law load the dishwasher and wipe the water drips from the floor

Get Married Already
My husband is the oldest in his family and the only one currently married. ZB (6) was complaining over yom tov that there weren't kids (like cousins) to play with. He then told my mother-in-law that one son had 1-2 years to get married and the other 5 years. Little does he realize that even if they would meet the right girl tomorrow it'll be a little while before there are any kids and he'd be so much older than them, he probably wouldn't want to even play with them.
Don't know his last name
ZB (6) is in first grade this year. Until this year his teachers were all Morah and then their first name (like Morah Shuli, Morah Leah, etc).
He was talking to my brother-in-law yesterday and told him that his Rebbe's name is R' XYZ but he didn't know his last name! I had to explain that that was his last name and starting first grade their teachers aren't called my their first names anymore.

Too Painful to Remember, Yet Too Hard to Forget
Yet another 9/11 has come. Being that I was in Downtown Manhattan at the time, I can attest to the fear and chaos felt in the area. Though B"H I was safe and not in the Twin Towers at the time, I was close enough to be covered in debris when the towers fell. (http://littlebirdies.blogspot.com/2007/09/9112001.html)
I remember being a newly wed of only 3 1/2 months. My husband was worried sick about my safety even after I called him and told him I was OK.
I can't even imagine what these people went through. I'm sure that they are still mourning their husband, father, son, and brother. Now, even 8 years later, I wish them a nechama for all their pain.

First Grade
ZB (6) has started first grade this year! I can't believe my little boy is getting big!!!
Wednesday was the first day and they only had a half day. He got off the bus glowing, and told me it was the best day of his life, but that the day was just too short.
On Thursday, when he got off the bus, again he was glowing. Again he said it was the best day.
Then later in the car, he told me "Ema, I can't believe I'm in first grade!!"
I asked him if it was hard to sit all day. He told me "Ema, we're doing interesting things the whole time. Why would I want to get up and miss what we're doing?"
I hope the rest of the year continues this way.
